As spring and summer roll into town, Griffintown’s lively ambiance makes it the prime destination to spend an entire fun-filled day, whatever the weather. With its many parks and restaurants and ideal location along the Lachine Canal, it’s hard not to fall in love with Griffintown! Here are a few of our favourite places to visit in your new or future neighbourhood.
Indoor and Outdoor Activities
The Lachine Canal
Starting with the gorgeous Lachine Canal seemed like the obvious choice. Whether on bike, on foot, or stand-up paddleboard, you’ll love exploring this beautiful waterway.
Good to know: At the Lachine Canal Nautical Centre, you can rent boats to enhance your canal experience: electric boats, SUPs, pedal boats, and even 13-seat voyageur canoes!
And what better way to cap off a day by the water than with a refreshing post-paddle beverage? Stop by one of the many bars or restaurants along the canal for a well-deserved break.
Atwater Market
For us, Atwater Market is iconically Montréal. And it’s also the only place in the city where you can get a gorgeous bouquet of flowers, a famous steamed bun from Satay Brothers, and a delicious doughnut for Léché Desserts, all in one spot.
Whether you’re simply window shopping or getting groceries, Atwater Market is truly worth the detour.
Bradley Ertaskiran Gallery
Love contemporary art? Always on the lookout for new artists? Well then, a stop by the Bradley Ertaskiran Gallery is a must!
Located on Payette Street, the gallery specializes in contemporary and experimental art. Come discover works from up-and-coming Canadian and international artists who are already making a name for themselves in various media including sculpture, painting, photography, and video art.
Griffintown Parks
If you’re looking for a bit of green space in the area, then look no further than these beautiful parks.

Vinet Park
A popular gathering spot with locals, Vinet Park, with its pretty green space, is great for relaxing, picnicking, or simply enjoying a leisurely stroll.
Restaurants
Whether you’re on the hunt for a refined dining experience or something more casual, Notre-Dame Street, between Guy and de la Montagne, is the culinary destination to meet your needs. It offers a variety of dining options for every taste and budget.
Le Richmond
For a romantic dinner or an evening out with friends, Le Richmond is the perfect spot. Its fresh, seasonal menu featuring delicious seafood and meats is sure to satisfy your inner epicurean.
Good to know: The cocktails are truly fantastic, making Le Richmond the best spot to start off or end your evening.
Le Bird Bar
Le Bird Bar is a great spot to treat yourself to delicious food and creative cocktails. Their specialty? Fried chicken, which, trust us, is bordering on perfection.
Foxy
This industrial-chic restaurant is known for its creative seasonal cuisine and artistic cocktails. And the décor, with its exposed brick walls and subdued lighting creating an intimate ambiance, is just as impressive.
Grinder
Meat lovers rejoice! At Grinder, steaks are cooked to perfection and served with a mountain of crispy French fries. And their impressive wine list shines the spotlight on local and international products. What more could you ask for?
Good to know: Their sugar pie is a must try!
Le Boucan
This BBQ spot is a favourite with locals for several reasons: a sunny terrace, cold craft beers, and by far, the best ribs in town.
Makro Pêcheries
Makro is a small culinary gem. If you’re looking for a place to enjoy local, creative dishes, then Makro is the place for you. The chef combines seasonal ingredients and local products to create a refined menu that will make your taste buds sing.
With its lush green spaces, lively restaurant scene, and prime location on the Lachine Canal, Griffintown is the ideal spot to enjoy life and explore new things.
